The Gathering Tour

Weezer, The Shins and Silversun Pickups join forces for The Gathering Tour which stops at Viejas Arena At Aztec Bowl on Wednesday, October 21st, 2026. The doors open at 6:00 PM with music starting at 7:00 PM.

Weezer

Weezer will bring fans of all ages songs to sing along to such as “Buddy Holly,” “Undone (The Sweater Song),” and “Beverly Hills.” The band is from Los Angeles and was created in 1992. This quartet writes Power Pop/Geek Rock. Their Self-Titled debut, the Blue Album, is considered an influential Indie Pop album of the 1990s. Weezer’s upcoming 20th studio album, Weezer (Gold Album), is set to be released on August 21, 2026. The members of the band are Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals/guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (lead vocals/guitar), and Scott Shriner (bass). Their Grammy Awards include Best Rock Album, as well as several MTV Video Music Awards. In addition Weezer has several platinum and multi-platinum albums. 

The Shins

The Shins will open up for Weezer as The Gathering Tour makes its way through San Diego. The opening act is James Mercer (singer and song writer) and The Shins alternative rock project formed in 1996 in Albuquerque, NM by Mercer and Neil Langley. Although The Shins have created music in three different form, the most recognizable is their indie rock work and most famous songs like “New Slang”, “Australia”, “Simple Song” and the album, Oh, Inverted World which received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album for Wincing the night Away. Most recently The Shins celebrated the 25th anniversary of their self-titled debut album in 2016.

Silversun Pickups

Silversun Pickups’ big hits include “Lazy Eye,” “Panic Switch,” and “Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance).” They have also released Physical Thrills in 2022 and the newest release Tentertunes in 2025. The band is known to deliver a high-energy show, giving the audience a great experience, and have been compared to classic alternative bands such as Smashing Pumpkins. The band members include lead vocalist and guitarist Nate Yelavich, bassist Chris Guzzo, and drummer Nick Stumpf, who has been playing with the band since 2006. The group has received a nomination for Best New Artist in 2010, with many of their songs reaching the top 20 on the alternative charts.

Viejas Arena At Aztec Bowl Information

Located at 5500 Canyon Crest Drive, San Diego, CA 92182 on the campus of San Diego State University. There are several concession stands located on the upper concourse and on the floor of the venue. The concession stands will have traditional sports items and food as well as specialty foods and beverages. Note that all payment for items at the concession stands will be card only.

Both stadium style seating and form-fitted seats with back rests. We have seating that is wheelchair accessible and we try to accommodate as many requests as possible. The Arena can be configured down to 3,000 seats for certain events and for The Gathering Tour it will be configured for the larger crowd of fans. Parking Information

For this Weezer, The Shins, Silversun Pickups concert event there are two parking garages located on the San Diego State University campus. The two parking garages for this show will be Parking Garage 7 and Parking Garage 12.
